100 hats challenge

As a knitter, I get gifted yarn when a loved one passes away and they don’t know what to do with the stash. I love the intentions, but sometimes I don’t know what to do with all the yarn and I hate seeing it go unused. Last year, I started the Good Knits project and was able to reach my goal donation to Ready, Set, Play children’s charity.

Thank you to everyone who helped me reach this milestone by purchasing an item from my good knits shop.

I’ll still offer some finished knits periodically in my shop, but my 2019 goal is to challenge myself to use up as much of the donated yarn and turn them into 100 hats for local shelters across Toronto. 100 hats seems like a stretch for one year but I think I can do it and still have the ability to knit a few things throughout the year for myself, the girls and as gifts. I’m also hoping to keep up with my operation sock drawer goal to make 6 new pairs of socks. I was able to meet half of this goal in 2018.

If you want to follow along, I’ll be tracking my Good Knits progress on Instagram under the #100hats.

I’m looking forward to the year ahead, friends. Are you?
